NoMad X DTLA

Deep-hued velvet, blue & gold coffered ceilings (pictured above), intricately carved main doors, and a surprise vault. These are a few things team PARTNER was lucky enough to spot during a sneak peek of the NoMad Hotel before they opened their doors to the public on January 21st in Downtown Los Angeles. Housed in the former Bank of Italy, this new space stays true to the NoMad luxury we all know and love. So what did we enjoy most?

NoMadMeetingRoom.jpg

The details! As Chef Daniel Humm told the LA Times, "there are many layers, and if you only come here once, you cannot experience it all at one time." From the stone statue overlooking the soon-to-be-opened pool (with 360-degree views of DTLA) to the coffee bar that converts to an alcohol bar when the sun sets (thanks to retractable mirrors), we certainly didn't experience all this new space has to offer. Looks like we'll need another trip! Did we mention the meeting space with the deep red custom chandelier (pictured above)? Talk about an intimate and inspiring space with hidden treasures. If you need more tech the mirrored room dividers open to reveal a flat-screen TV.

NoMadVaultDoor.jpg

What do most old bank buildings have in common? Heavy-duty vaults. Honoring the buildings rich history, guests pass through the vault door on the way to the restrooms (pictured above). If walking through the massive vault door weren't enough to remind you of the history of this building the old safety deposit boxes (pictured below) in the restroom foyer certainly will.

Our visit to the NoMad's 1920's-era building added an extra element of Italian influence to our trip to California (promise, we didn't fly 7 hours to only see the NoMad!). The textures, colors, and food have us so excited to plan events in the many spaces offered (they have 6 different kitchens!). We know what you are thinking. "You are in New York City!" Don't worry, #teamPARTNER likes to travel! 🛩

Stop and enjoy the details around you!

Cheers to 2018!

PARTNER Productions

2018 is underway and you know what this means: resolutions! The gyms are full, diets are on, people stop drinking...or drink less. So how, as an Event Producer, can you help your guests stick to their goals? Well, Bizbash's "14-Wellness-Focused Event & Catering Ideas for a Healthy New Year" offers plenty of ideas! What is our favorite? We will give you a hint: it involves cocktails!

Who can possibly feel guilty drinking 24 Carat Magic (pictured above)? It has a funny name and is full of vitamins with fresh carrot juice, tamarind, lemon juice and ginger. Include veggie-packed cocktails in your menu to add extra flavor (literally) to your event and help your guests stay true to their resolutions. Even if they don't "drink less", thanks to you they can at least drink healthier! Trust us, they will appreciate your extra effort! 🥕🥒🌽

Cheers to veggies!

Five Years Strong!

5!!! PARTNER Productions is 5 years old!

5 years ago this week in January 2013, we embarked on the rollercoaster journey of entrepreneurship (as Diana Tsao Events - remember our pre-rebrand name :)

While starting a business is not easy, we would make the same leap again - 20 times over!!! Through this journey, we feel blessed because of the incredible people we've met, everything we've learned, and above all the freedom to create what we love...everyday.

What began as a one-woman shop has grown to a whole team of hard-working, motivated, & fun Champagne-loving women!

5 years in...we are humbled, grateful and happy.

Never stop learning.

Cheers to 5, and many more! 🍾 🍾 🍾 🍾 🍾

Team PARTNER on the Road: Croatia

Cflag2.jpg

Last week, Team PARTNER packed our bags and headed east. Our final destination? Šibenik, Croatia. Our goal? Help our clients produce a unique culinary event in 2018. From fortresses to cathedrals to a world-famous winery, we had first class access to the culture and traditions of this historic coastal town. What were the highlights? Keep on reading!

One cannot visit Šibenik without seeing at least one of the four historic fortresses sprinkled throughout the city. Looking for a view of Šibenik from the water? St. Nicholas Fortress (pictured below, top left), located on the island Ljuljevacat, is the fortress for you. You want a view of the Kornati Islands? St. Michael's Fortress (pictured below, top right) might be right for you, perched on a steep hill above the old historic center. Oh, you want a view of both the city and the islands with a little bit of tech involved? Barone Fortress (pictured below, bottom left) offers an AR experience, cannons (cannon balls included!) and views of both the city and Kornati Islands. Still not satisfied? St. John Fortress (pictured below, bottom right) opens in 2019 after a €6.7M revitalization project.

We headed for the hills above Skradin, past Krka National Park to the village of Plastovo, arriving at world-famous BIBICh Winery as the sun was setting. Welcomed by owner Alen Bibić with a glass of BIBICh Brut Rosé, we explored the grounds (pictured below, left) with a quick peek in the cellar (pictured below, right) before settling in the tasting room. Chin Chin (Cheers in Croatian)! Like many family gatherings around a table (with wine!), we heard stories of Croatian's strong history and traditions, learned why BIBICh named their wine "Debit", and why "eating with a spoon" is a tradition we can get behind!

With our new knowledge of Šibenik's culture and tradition fresh in our minds the planning phase began. What better place to hunker down with our laptops and ideas than Croatia's number one restaurant, Pelegrini. The day started, as many should, with an espresso surrounded by history at the old Public Town cistern, Four Wells (pictured below, top left). When it was time for a creative break, Chef Rudi Štefan took us on a personal tour of the city he calls home (we love the street named "Steep Steps"!). Lucky for us, he also shared his kitchen with us throughout the day! Seriously guys, squid ink gnocchi (pictured below, top right), monkfish tripe (pictured below, bottom left) and the some of the best olive oil we have ever had!  We ended the night with a picturesque toast in front of the Cathedral of St. James (pictured below, bottom right) followed by a delicious dinner with some exceptional and rare wine.

Learning about Šibenik's culture and tradition and experiencing their generous hospitality during this trip was unforgettable. We are so excited to be working with such a dedicated group to produce an innovative and delicious event. We can't wait to share more details with you soon! Hey, we may even see you in Croatia in 2018!
