Attendees arrived at newly opened The Shed at Hudson Yards to celebrate Chef José Andrés and learn more about the extraordinary relief efforts made by World Central Kitchen.Celebrity chefs Eric Ripert, Emeril Lagasse, Rick Bayless, David Chang, Angela Dimayuga, Daniel Boulud, Ming Tsai, and Chad Robertson prepared special food for the evening. Performances throughout the evening included Yo-Yo Ma, O.A.R., City of the Sun and Lola Lennox. Ted Allen hosted while President Bill Clinton, Katie Couric, Martha Stewart, and many more gave impassioned speeches about disaster relief. 35 feet long tables rigged to the ceiling came down before Union Square Events covered them with food, demonstrating what Chef José Andrés means when he says "Longer tables, not higher walls." Ending the evening with a musical celebration, Luis Miranda and David Begnaud took the stage to discuss Puerto Rico before a 10-minute dance party including silk aerialists, Vejigantes and Cabezudos.
