union club - 70th birthday

The Union Club, New York City's oldest private club, was the scene for this December surprise 70th birthday party. Hidden behind the large Christmas tree, guests enjoyed canapés and cocktails waiting for the guest of honor to arrive. Performing on a secret balcony, a trio from world-renowned Juilliard School entertained during sips of wine and birthday wishes. "Happy Birthday To You" played while the doors to the West Ballroom opened to welcome guests with their escort blocks in hand. The construction theme carried into the ballroom, with blueprint-themed menus and a roaming photo booth, equipped with hard hats with the guest of honor's face. A video slideshow followed humorous and heartfelt speeches before the room began to rock, thanks to the Erik Marshall Band. Pin-up girls descending on the room added an element of surprise before the yacht-themed birthday cake was lit. The party ended with custom-wrapped cigars enjoyed on the smoking terrace.
